How to find your size

How to find your size

Hands up if swimsuit shopping feels like a form of torture. 🙋

If you’ve ever stood half-naked in a change room, wondering why every suit digs, gaps, or rolls, you’re not imagining it. Most swimwear is still designed using outdated size charts that don’t reflect real women’s bodies.

When we started building Fearless, we discovered something shocking: out of 150 women we measured, only TWO perfectly matched the industry’s bust-waist-hip size guides. No wonder nothing fits.

But finding a swimsuit that actually feels good isn’t impossible. Here are my top tips (from someone who has been there, done that, and built a whole brand to fix it).

1. Ignore the tag size (seriously).

Sizing is a mess across brands, and the number on the tag says nothing about your worth. We worked hard to get our swimmers to fit true to size. Check out our size guide before purchasing or drop us a line via the chat if you've got any questions.

2. Look for adjustable features.

Bodies aren’t one-size-fits-all. Straps that adjust, back closures you can tighten or loosen, and clever bust sliders (yep, we added those to Fearless!) let you customise the fit for your shape. This means you can crossed straps for more active days, or remove straps if you want to lie and do nothing!

3. Check for real bust support.

If you’ve ever had a swimsuit that left you feeling like your boobs were… somewhere else entirely, you know what I mean. Look for built-in shelf bras, moulded cups, or underwire options that match your cup size. Bust support is key to Fearless swimmers.

4. Pay attention to bum coverage and leg rise.

Some brands think we all want a thong bikini. We don’t. Medium–full coverage and a leg rise that flatters without cutting in can be the difference between feeling ‘cute’ or exposed.

5. Choose fabrics that feel supportive (not sausage-casing tight).

The right compression should feel like a gentle hug, not a punishment. Good swimwear holds you without digging or restricting movement. We have a smart tummy compression panel that helps you feel held, like your fav activewear.

6. Pick brands that design for your body.

Most brands still design for the “straight-size” minority (sizes 4–8). Yet more than half of Aussie women are size 10–16, and 66% of us wear a D cup or larger. If you’ve always felt like nothing fits, that’s why.

At Fearless, we flipped the script.

We collected real women’s measurements, tested every swimsuit on over 100 everyday women, and built suits with adjustable details, real bust support, and cuts that don’t dig in weird places.

Because when you have swimwear that fits, you stop thinking about your body and start living in the moment… whether that’s diving in the ocean, chasing your kids on the beach, or just lying in the sun without constantly adjusting your straps.
